Your Data-Driven Classroom: Action Research Basics for Classroom Teachers, Grades K – 6.
This practical workshop helps classroom teachers grasp the basics of conducting systematic Action Research in their classrooms, from designing a research plan to translating their findings into meaningful classroom action. Using classroom research to investigate issues helps provides evidence that can support constructive action, whether teachers wish to make change, resolve problems, or simply investigate ideas for improvement. In this workshop, Ms. Athans shares her ten-year experience designing and conducting classroom research on issues relating to differentiated instruction, guided reading, student motivation and literacy, and the integration of technology into the classroom. She has been awarded numerous individual and team research grants and also shares her experiences applying for grants to support her research studies.
